A cheese biscuit suit breakfast or tea time and are tasty on their own, but adding a topping such as jam, avocado or tomato, makes these biscuits even more special.

What we love about this recipe is, that you can whip it up in minutes and enjoy freshly baked biscuits any time of the day, but above all first thing in the morning. Unbaked biscuits freeze exceptionally well, to be baked another day.

  1. Preheat oven to 450 F
  2. While it's cold, cut the butter into small pieces and then leave it out of the fridge for 30 minutes
  3. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add the butter to the flour mix, mixing it in until the dough is rough and crumbly. Stir in the cheddar cheese
  4. Add the buttermilk to the flour mix, mixing it until the dough comes together
  5. On a floured surface, pour the dough out and gently knead, just to bring it together
  6. Roll the dough out, dip a cookie cutter in some flour and cut out round shapes
  7. Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 15 – 18 minutes, until slightly golden
